A striking Belle poque era dinner ring, modeled in 14k gold and platinum, whose frame-like, rectangular face hems-in a group of ten chunky, old mine cut diamonds. Each of these old, hand-cut diamonds is bead-set into a small hexagonal seat, and these floating seats are finished with fine milgrain edges. The ring’sface is long and slender, with nipped corners— it covers the length of a hand’s bottom knuckle. The ring's shoulders are decorated with elegant, understated pairs of bars, and its under-gallery is pierced with a series of bars, as well. Its slender half-round shank tapers toward the base. This ring's clean, geometric aesthetic suggests a bridgebetween the Belle poque period and the Art Deco period. We loveits quality of repetition, andits bold, graphic presence! The lattice-like construction of the backside of the ring head is beautiful in its own right.
