A lovely, antique, flower-formcluster ring, modeled in 18k yellow gold and silver, whose primary gem is a natural, cushion-cut red spinel (unheated, Burma). This vivid, true-red gem is held ina series of eleven tapering, claw-like prongs, where it is surrounded by eleven bezel-set, old mine cut diamonds. The ring'ssilver,square-round bezels were individually formedtohold each of these chunky old cut diamonds, and we especially love the way they come together to create the ring head's charming, scallopededge! This ring's flower-like head sits atopits pierced, yellow gold under-gallery.Its yellow gold shank ispinched at the cathedral shoulder and it widens toward the base. This ring has wonderful proportions, and it is very flattering in wear— it would make an outstanding engagement ring!
Historically, red spinel was often sold as ruby, and we think it sometimes outperforms ruby in color and brilliance— this sparkling, highly-saturated spinel is a heartbreaker! This ring ships with a GIA report indicating that the spinel is natural and untreated.

Notes
An old mine cut diamond is characterizedbyits off-round shape, small table, steepcrown facets, and openculet. While it's technically true that all diamonds are unique, old, hand-cut diamonds have truly unique qualities, and a soulfulness that can't be matched by contemporary diamonds.
